These pants used to belong to my older sister.  We have been going through all our old old stuff at my parents house, and I came across these.  They fit me like a glove and are different than the other black pants I have because they have a subtle sparkle pinstripe (which you can't really see in the photos) and a skinnier fit. I enjoyed wearing this outfit.  It made it feel like spring even though it SNOWED all afternoon! Lame!

Okay! Okay!  It is not my nemesis, but I have agonized over how to wear this skirt, especially for a professional setting.  I'm actually quite pleased with the way this came together.  Surprisingly, the thing I like the least about it is my favorite necklace.  I was trying to add a pop, but I'm not sure it is the right shape for what I have going on here.

I'm kidding... I don't think a bohemian pleat is a thing. Don't be confused by the conflicting styles. There are a lot of completely different things going on and I'm not sure if they communicate well with each other or not. 1st there is this peasant-y top with the embroidery. Next, you see the very structured and slightly military inspired pencil skirt. Followed by none other than my wedding shoes, which are pink, girl-y, pleated and have a big bow on the side.

Do you think these different styles mesh?

Isn't Chartreuse already out?  Oh well!  As some of you may know by now, I like bright colors.  It doesn't get much brighter than this!

Someone was asking last week about go-to outfits.  I commented that I didn't have one, but I'm going to retroactively call myself a liar.  In the fall and winter, this is definitely my go to outfit -- a sweater, jeans and boots.  Nothing is better, buuuut I am really missing my warm weather clothes.  I wonder if they miss me too!

Come on good weather!  I am dying to break out some open toed loveliness!

I don't think I like this outfit. It was one of those last minute trying to find something to wear situations.  I hate those. I was going to put it with a red scarf, but it felt way too much like a pirate. Arrrrrr!  So much for my stripes!

I'm discouraged by this outfit. Maybe it was the freezing rain at the end of March that was throwing me off. Ah Well! Tomorrow is another day!

I'm considering growing my bangs out, or not.  I don't know!

Does anyone have an eye patch I could borrow?

HOT pink!!  These are my favorite favorite favorite pumps.  I wanted to put this pencil skirt to good work because it has been months since it has seen the light of day. In other good news, Guess shoes fit me so wonderfully - that is a rare love to find.

I was being honored today at work for my 1 year tenure with the company, so I wanted to feel like a badass savvy professional for the occasion. Not sure if I pulled it off or not, but I get a B+ for effort!

I'm breaking someone's rule by wearing my white pumps before Easter.  Is it against some "rule" to wear orange in spring.  I always wear this sweater in the Fall because it is orange, but it clearly has some springy abilities.  Not to mention, my adoration for the square neckline. The bad news is, I completely forgot to throw on a necklace, so I guess I'll have to defend the simplicity and claim to be showing off the neckline, 'er something.

I have been agonizing over this skirt for a while.  Not able to find just the right thing to wear to it with.  I think it works pretty well with this, but feels a little too matchy and obvious. I'm not sure why this skirt has me so stumped.  Anyone have ideas on how else to style this?

In other news, I was apparently feeling monochromatic this morning, so I threw on this little number.  It didn't photograph perfectly from the side, but I swear the ruching is totally awesomer than it looks.

I got a couple of nice comments about this outfit today. PLUS it totally makes me look taller than the shorty that I am without a high waisted dress and some platform boots.  That's right -- I'm pretend tall!

Something about this ensemble makes me feel comfortable and effortless.  I love love an outfit that seems effortless.  There's not much to this outfit, so I can't really claim to be a genius, shucks!

These colors make me feel happy and springy!  I should probably bust out the florals soon to encourage the tulips to come up soon!  I am a sucker for tulips!

Also, the top here is actually way cooler than it looks.  It has really neat sleeves, but alas you cannot see it because of the pinky pinky cardi!  [insert evil laugh]

I didn't realize until I started breaking it down that most of this outfit was gifted to me.  Cool!  This outfit is not sensational, but it was fun and festive.  I'll have to just apologize for the sucky blurry pictures.  I'm still trying to figure out the time change!

For some reason the designs on the bottom of that top make my belly look like it is full of green beer -- which it is not!  Do you get a kick out of dressing up for holidays like St. Patty's day?  I do!

Fuchsia Leopard sounds a lot like ferocious leopard, but alas they are not the same.

Today we had something special going on at work that included food and wearing jeans.  I pulled out the fuchsia and leopard in one!  Who knew such a thing existed?  I really felt good in this outfit, so it must have been a pretty good one. 

I'm glad it is finally warm enough to wear some short-sleeved stuff.  Its like I'm gaining a whole new wardrobe!  I love spring!

Nothing was going right for me this morning.  I thought I had an outfit all ready, but when I put it on, it just didn't work.  So I had only a few minutes to figure something out!  I ended up with this and I think it works okay but not great.  I have really been wanting to wear these bootie before its really really spring and booties are less awesome.  I feel like I do this almost everyday...

There's not much to this outfit, but the shirt has so much punch that I have trouble putting it with much else.  After checking out this outfit, I think I'm going to try this shirt tucked in with a high waisted pencil skirt.  I'm actually pretty excited to feel like my exploration is helping me to find new ways to use my cloths!  Yay!

I'm a little surprised.  Yesterday my outfit was better in the mirror than in photos, and today I feel like I was disappointed in this outfit until I took a good look at the pictures.  Odd.

I'm still not sure I like the shape of this sweater with this outfit since it is a little bit short, but it is sort of fun the way the belt makes it flare away like an adorable dress might do.  I felt like the color palette was turning a bit fall-ish rather than springy, so I threw on my creamy white boots in the hope that it would lighten it up a bit.  Overall I'm pretty happy with it.

Work has been insanely nuts since I got back from my mini-cation, so I'm pretty lucky that I am somehow able to find things to put on that are not a) my husband's or b) my puppy's.  Yes. my puppy has some clothes.  She's adorable and she's fashionable!

This is probably my favorite pencil skirt -- until next week when I tell you something else is my fav.  I'm not sure what it is about it, but I love it!  It is sort of a strange brownish/grayish/taupeish color.  There is nothing particularly wow-ing about my outfit today, but I like the way it fits, plus, these shoes are awesome, leopard print and surprisingly comfortable.

As soon as I decided to put my hair up, I knew I'd have to do something spunky with earrings, so I found these giant gems hiding in my jewelry box.  Since my earrings are so insanely giant, I decided not to add a necklace.

Any ideas on how to make this outfit more "wow"?

I liked this outfit more in the mirror than I do in these photos, but it works out alright.  I have a little trouble with this jacket because it is such a bizarre/boxy/modern shape, but I try to put it with skinny jeans or pencil skirts to balance out the big square top.

On the other hand, how can you go wrong with sequined booties?  Which are actually amazingly comfortable!  I love it when that happens.

Hubby and I took an extra long, wonderful, weekend to visit my paternal grandparents in Fort Myers, FL.  Unfortunately, I'm not organized enough in my blogging (yet) to get someone to fill in, so the blog had to suffer!

I did manage to snap this shot of an outfit I wore for waltzing around the pier and the "time square" area of Fort Myers beach.  This dress was perfect to stay cool in the hot sun, and it worked great for walking the beach and watching the sunset too!  This is not an outfit for work, but everyone takes a Vaca' now and then, I hope!  I probably should have titled this post:  "NOT Workin' it"

Unfortunately, my polka dots did not keep the birds from pooping on me and hubby, so this little number will have to be thoroughly washed! EewW

There are 2 things happening here that I absolutely love.  The dress and the shoes.  The dots are fun and these are my most fierce shoes.  They are not very comfortable, but man I feel like a million bucks when I put them on!

This outfit makes me happy.  I love the color of the silk blouse, and surprisingly [sarcasm] I'm wearing ruffles, again. I went with the matchy-matchy shoes because I felt like there were enough colors and textures already going on.  These are also my scariest/pointiest shoes ever.  Be afraid!

I think I had a small stroke... of genius when I decided to use the "belt" from the shirt to wrap all the way around the cardi.  I think it is so much cooler than if I had just belted it.

Since I always mention the weather, I should say that I was pretty excited about the sunny day we had in Indiana.  I can't wait to see some tulips.  I love tulips!

I like somethings going on here, but I feel like it needs something. Any suggestions?  On the plus side, I got several good comments at work about this outfit, so it can't be too bad.  I also think this is slightly reminiscent of Marvin the Martian, which could be considered bad or good.

Over the weekend I had the chance to hit up Marshalls and found tights for $0.70 so I bought all the colors I could find.  Which was not a ton, but at least I have some tights now! :)  These are my favorite because they have big circles on them instead of being plain.  Texture excites me!

And yes.  My hair is wet.  Sometimes that's how I roll.
