Apparently, this is what happens when I don't add that "POP" of color that I'm normally

This is one of my safety outfits. I can put this shirt on with anything black and roll out to work. I'm actually more pleased with the photos of this outfit than I was leaving the house in it. Everything felt loose, and I didn't feel like I was creating the "volume on top vs. form fit on bottom" shape that I was going for. In hindsight though, it seems to have worked out okay.

I feel like this is a great way to do "casual friday". I think the fluffy girlie-ness of the ruffly top juxtaposed with the structure of the jacket make for a fun and creative combination. I did feel a bit lack luster with all grey on, so I added my favorite POP of color necklace.

I couldn't resist the title today. I meant that I'm workin' color blocking. I'm not as cool as "Jenny from the block."
I have not experimented much with color blocking yet, so when I saw these two colors next to each other in my closet, I decided to give it a shot. What do you think?

This dress is so easy and comfortable. Plus is has a build-in Boutonniere! I felt blah about this outfit until the moment I put on these shoes. These leopard print kickers are a staple in my wardrobe, and you'll be happy to know they are super comfortable! Overall I'm pleased with this outfit, but I can't wait to try it with some colorful or printed belts.

This outfit was an experiment because these are new pants. I was struggling a bit to style them, but in the end I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I did a lot of running around, so it was important to wear pants. It was also very hot and sticky outside, so I needed pants that would be cool. I actually spent much of the day without the cardigan, and I was in luck because these babies are made of a linen blend. I was quite comfortable all day!

I really like Lauren Conrad's clothes! I wish they were paying me to say that, but they are not! All her peices are so beautiful and feminine.
Every time I put on these pumps I think about Sex in the City for some reason. I'm pretty happy with this outfit. Next time I style this shirt, I'm hoping to be a bit more daring.

It was hot out, and I thought this dress would be a good choice for staying cool. It is not super flattering, but it is super fun and super comfy! I don't love the shrug with it, but I needed something to keep me warm in the well air conditioned office.

Yesterday we had an industry golf outing event with a circus theme. Our company sponsors a hole at this event every year. This is where we set up camp at hole #12. We decorated our tent and made adorable shirts to go along with the theme of the event. A Special thanks to my little sister for letting us borrow her circus animals to put our tent over the top.
We served cotton candy jello shots, lemon shake-ups (plus vodka), animal crackers, popcorn and these adorable cupcakes.
It was a beautiful day. A great time was had by all! Oh! And I'm sure some business happened too!

I'm not excited about this outfit, but it gets a "pass." Much of today was spent preping for a work event tomorrow, so maximum mobility and comfort were tantamount. I have trouble admitting I own Naturalizer shoes, but I think these are pretty great. They are actually the only pair of wedges I own! THE HORROR!

My grandma loves beige. She'd totally like this outfit. At least it has the sequins and the ruffly shoes going for it. Not to mention I added some pretty substantial pops of color, but then again - that's what I do!
I don't love the way this cardigan fits, but I'm going to try to shrink it in the wash. Hopefully that will solve all the world's problems.

I have really struggled with this styling this skirt, but I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it. I think this color combination is inspired by a stone in the necklace I got on my honeymoon.
I believe this skirt pushes the line of being too short for work, but I try to play down the "sexiness" of it by pairing it with looser fitting more modest tops. I'm not sure if my technique works or not, but I think I love this skirt too much not to wear it.
Man! Who knew putting on clothes could be so complicated!

To my delight, both my cami and my pants have a hint of sparkle in them. I also really love this short sleeved jacket. It is wonderfully structured and creates a great shape, but I have trouble finding the best things to wear with it. I guess I'll just have to keep trying!

Today was super dooper hot, so I threw on a dress to stay cool. I always feel great in this dress. It is not overly professional in shape, so I added pumps in an effort to look more savvy. Not sure I pulled it off, but that's cool.
I need to get my hands on some brightly colored belts to wear with this dress. Any suggestions?

"Olive and blue" sounds like it should be the name of a martini or maybe a children's book. Unfortunately, that is not what I'm referring to here. I love this shirt from LC, so you're going to get to see me try it over and over again with many different things. Some of those things will fail, like this. I think this outfit is fine, but it does not live up to the potential awesomeness of this shirt. My pup completely agrees.

I was so excited that this outfit worked because I threw it together on a whim. I do feel like my shoes might be a bit out of place, but I was trying to make a less obvious/easy choice. Also, I love my Calvin Kleins.
"Peasant Tops" are coming back right? No? Oh well!
