Since my family is fantastic, of course Thanksgiving was wonderful. All our prep paid off and our house feels like it is under control again. I love having a reason to deep clean!
I was bad and I bought myself a few things when I should have been buying Christmas gifts. This skirt and white tee cost me $6 each and I'm pretty sure it was well worth it. I think this outfit is fun. It felt a little whimsical. Maybe next time I'll try adding a belt to it.
How was your Thanksgiving? Is your family awesome? Did you buy anything for $6?

Plum Sparkles... not to be confused with Robin Sparkles. (that's for any other HIMYM fans out there) I enjoyed wearing this outfit. We had a celebratory lunch at work, so I thought the sequins seemed fitting. This pencil skirt has some neat ruching that accentuates my "shape" - if you will.
I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving and is now in holiday mode. It is back to work, but everyone should be in a great mood for the next few weeks.
Speaking of great moods, don't forget to enter the Shabby Apple Jewelry Giveaway. I'll be taking entries until 7pm EST tonight, so HURRY!

I love the idea of this outfit, but in the real world, the shape is all wonky. I'm officially considering altering this top to be more useful. I'm accepting ideas!
In other news, we're still in Thanksgiving prep mode. Lots and lots and LOTS to do around the house! And I gave this adorable puppy a hair cut! I'm gaining more and more talents everyday!

The wave has multiple meanings at this point in the week. (1) My hair is wavy, obviously, (2) I am riding my last wave of energy on into Thanksgiving, and (3) clearly waves are cool.
I feel a lot better about this outfit, now as I look at the photos, than I did when I was wearing it. I think the color combination totally works and the leopard brings a little bit of somethin' somethin' to the ensemble.
Thanksgiving is happening at my house, so every spare moment away from work is spent cleaning and (what I like to call) "detailing" the house. It is great to have a reason to deep clean at least once a year! This will be our third Thanksgiving meal so far this year! What do you and your family do for Turkey Day?

My Colts have a BYE this week, so there's no Blue Friday this week.
Why do I like square necks on tops? It seems like such a simple thing, yet I find them to be so nifty. Yes, I said nifty! I like the comfy coziness of this outfit, and I love the way these shoes look with the cuffed skinnies.
I threw in that ridiculous photo to demonstrate exactly how nifty the world is!

Sweater: gift
Skirt: H&M
Tights: Kohl's
Booties: Express
This skirt has been patiently awaiting the day when I would finally remove all the felt planets, moons, stars and comets carefully tacked onto it for this Miss Frizzle Halloween Costume. So I finally stopped being lazy and here it is! I'm loving the bright colors! And just for the added sparkle -- I had to throw in the infamous sequined booties. Now, I try not to play favorites with my shoes, but .... seriously, look at them.
I've waited too long to try to style this skirt. The color and shape are so much fun. It is a good thing I have such a patient skirt.

Sweater: Macy's
Scarf: ?
Pants: too old to remember
Shoes: Guess (via Macy's)
I feel like I didn't try with this outfit. Its only interesting qualities are that it has stripes and seems somewhat slimming for some reason. Maybe it is the pants. Let's not dwell on potentially how old these pants are. Not important!
Candy cigarettes have nothing to do with this outfit or fashion, but I have some sitting here on my dining room table. Remember those things? How awesome are they?

Blazer: H&M
Pants: Express
Shoes: Jessica Simpson (via Von Maur)
Belt: taken from Target dress
This belt from a Target dress is an amazing match with this blazer. I wanted to cinch the waist and soften the look without drawing TOO much attention to the waist. This worked perfectly! The bow adds a little "feminine" touch and I love these colors together. Today I am dressed to match the colors in my living/dining room. Do you ever dress in the same colors that you decorate in? No? Just me than...

Dress: Wet Seal

This was one of the worst/most frustrating mornings I've had in a while. I'm pretty sure I spent almost an hour finding something to wear that I even remotely liked. My problem was I wanted to wear these tights with these grey booties. I liked the color combo, but I couldn't find anything to go with them. I still don't like the long cardi with this; I feel like it looks dowdy. The color works but not the shape.
Has anyone else experienced this morning frustration?

I call this my old lady sweater, but is it too bright and spunky to be an old lady sweater?
This time I did "Blue Friday" with a spattering of pink. My boys lost... AGAIN, but I will keep on irrationally believing! Go Colts!

After work, Hubby and I went on a double date with some pals. So in the morning, I had to find something that would be professional but still fun and spunky for our date! I ususually pull this shirt out in the summer because it had little tulip looking things all over it, but today yellow felt like a fall color. I put my favorite and best fitting blazer on over it, and Wha-La!
Suprise! It's my favorite scarf AGAIN!

Dress: Target
Cardigan: Von Maur
Boots: DSW
Necklace: LOFT
This is a dress I got for a steal on a Target clearance rack. It is actually a "summer" dress. I have been doing a lot lately to transition my spring/summer pieces into fall/winter. Don't you think it is unfair that summer pieces can stick their noses into the winter season but not visa versa? I'm crying shenanigans on this! That's not fair!
Bazinga!

I voted! Two out of the three people I voted for in the municipal election were people in my immediate family!
I love the mix of pinstripes and polka dots, and as you can see my purple obsession continues...
