I dug these jeans out from under my giant pile of jeans. Sometimes I play favorites with my jeans and forget about some lovely jeans farther down in the pile. They aren't as tight as I remember them being... That must have something to do with all the running miles hubby and I have been doing to prep for the 500 Festival Mini Marathon coming up on Saturday. We are officially in crunch time.

Some mornings, when I take Baylee on her morning run, she gets really really excited. One of her favorite things to do is to come out on the deck to "help" me take my outfit pictures. What a good helper! Have you ever noticed that no one is as excited to see you come home at the end of the day like a dog is? Its so wonderful to be loved unconditionally!

I made the decision to wear matchy shoes. I usually try to avoid making an obvious/matchy choice, but I was lured in by the satin-y little bows! You know how convincing bows can be, right?!

I often have trouble with the sash on this shirt sliding down, so I thought tying it around the outside of the jacket might help with this problem AND create more of a contrast-y waist. BTW "contrast-y" is a word now. Tell your friends.

My title today might have confused you. I'm not actually 50 years old. I do, however, feel like I'm a brightly colored version of a stepford wife. I also think I could easily replace this skirt with a poodle skirt and the outfit would work just as well.

My husband listens to old music; Apparently, I just dress like from other eras. Have you done any time traveling lately?

I feel a bit like an H&M billboard today, but I couldn't resist putting these together. I bought another new blazer! I'm on a big blazer kick lately. I just can't help it! This coral color is so springy and wonderful. I can't believe I even waited one day to put it on!

This was my sisters Bday! I got to have an impromptu lunch with the Birthday girl AND I got to babysit my awesome nephew. Not bad, not bad at all!

Where did my spring go? I feel betrayed. The spring totally keeps faking me out! I thought it was spring - it was lovely and warm. Now it looks beautiful outside, but when you walk out it is only 30 degrees!

In other news, my hubby and I are training for the Indianapolis Mini Marathon, so that is a nifty adventure. We only have 11 days left to train, so hopefully next we'll take over the world - like Pinky and The Brain.

Sometimes the simplest jeans and white Tshirt are the prefect items for an outfit.  Often I feel like getting back to basics (like the white tee) can really bring some chic-ness to your look. It isn't often that I make the simple choice, but today it just seemed right. How do you feel about basics?

BTW - did you see my fishtail braid!? It has taken me a LONG time to get better at this, and my hair still falls out by the end of the day. All the same, I still feel proud and accomplished like a 6 year-old that just did a "great job" cutting her own bangs.

Green used to be "my color". I have green eyes, so I always thought that was the best way to bring out the color of my eyes. Silly me! I just needed some giant ruffles and some lovely floral prints instead!

I thought putting these sassy leopard print shoes with this silk pale pink ruffly dress would give the outfit another dimension. I think it worked! The blazer also does a great job of reeling in this sweet fluffy dress and making it look like a more structured, put together and professional outfit. Way to work together as a team guys!

My husband gave me much praise this morning for this outfit. I'm still on the fence. I don't love the length of these paints, but I do love the color combo!

There is an episode of Friends in which Joey explains what a "moo point" is. He says: It is like a cow's opinion - it is Moo. This completely cracks me up - don't judge! I guess it is bad thing that my husband's opinion of this outfit is what made me think of the scene in the first place.

Dear Husband, your opinion is not moo! Hakuna Matata!

I stayed up too late doing taxes with my hubby. I do feel pretty accomplished for doing them on our own instead of paying some tax website $75-$100 to file for us. A penny saved is a penny earned, right?

I refuse to put away my sparkles! You can't make me do it. Spring-time should not be excluded from the sparkle train. Ok, I'm pretty sure the "sparkle train" isn't a thing, but if it were, I would totally ride that train!

I got this new color of nail polish. I'm kind of falling in love with it. Apparently, I'm also falling in love with dots. This is the third time I've worn dots this week! (here, here and today) Do they have to be called polka dots? What about waltz dots or better yet salsa dots! Can a person develop and addiction to dots? I wonder if there is a support group for that...

I love this blazer it is going to have so many great applications into my wardrobe. It has magical powers to turn a regular outfit into something vibrant, bright and exciting.

This was my Easter outfit. When I came across this skirt at F21 I knew it would make a perfect Easter item. I think the yellow accents make this outfit extra bright and happy!

Also, lilacs smell good!
