Three years ago today, I married this guy. He's pretty much the coolest dude ever. We make a great team! I am so lucky that I get to run crazy through life with someone as loyal, loving, honest, creative, smart, awesome, funny, goofy, dorky, strong and amazing as this man.
Thanks Hubby! Its going to be awesome being married to you for 70 KaZillion years!
Belt: came with a skirt
I got lucky at the Target clearance rack! I have been dying to find some brightly colored pencil skirts, and this one came to me for $5!! When I paired it with these neutral black dots and grey it gave it a somewhat vintage feel.
Anybody have ideas for other fun ways to style this skirt? I'm taking suggestions.

As someone that has lived in central Indiana for virtually my entire life, memorial day weekend also means race weekend. There are lots and lots and LOTS of people in town, and there is plenty of excitement in the air.
Since it was the Friday before a holiday weekend we closed up shop early at work. I had to wait for hubby to leave work because we've been saving the planet and some money by commuting together when possible. Turns out this is a great excuse to go shopping at my favorite mall. Its not as good without my shopping buddy, but I found some okay stuff!
Have you saved the planet, commuted or raced cars lately?

A tough but productive work week has me grasping as pencil skirts (instead of straws). I know that an all black outfit + colorful blazer isn't over the top with creativity, but I've had little else but work on the brain. This is the outfit I chose to wear for a sold out presentation my firm was asked to make. Hopefully I look both professional and chic!
At least this outfit does a little to play with the prints and pleated ruffly goodness. Almost can't go wrong with that!
Pants: Michael Kors (via Macy's)
Shoes: Bakers shoes
I had a ton to do at work today, so I needed something quick this morning. I didn't have time to fiddle with it, so through some happy accident I fell into this outfit. I'm a little surprised I like it since it came together with so little thought. That's the best kind of outfit - minimal thought/maximum awesomeness.

Believe it or not these are the shoes all the bridesmaids in my wedding wore. They have a magical power to be somewhat invisible while still being snakeskin, iridescent and fun! How did I end up with a pair for shoes my bridesmaids wore you ask? Well my shoe twin gave me hers, since she didn't think she'd get much use out of these heels.
I love the neckline of the top and the fun red color, but I think this outfit could be much better somehow. I just haven't figured out how yet! How would you make this better?

I am over the moon about all bird prints right now. It is because of this that I need to warn you that you might be seeing a lot of this shirt for the foreseeable future. I see that this is not the most flattering outfit the world has ever seen, but I love the colors and prints so much that I just don't care one bit! Perhaps I've flown the coop!
Top: Old Navy
Scarf: New York & Company
Jacket: Charolette Russe
I have decided I am in love with the color of these pants. I am now imagining them in so many fantastic color combinations. It is a lovely thing. Don't tell my other pants, but these might be my new favorite pants! Shhhh!
I added this denim jacket at the last minute because it was a surprisingly cold morning. It works, but it was not in my original plan for the outfit.
Blazer: Forever 21
I feel like making a super fun witty office space reference, but the only flare I have today is lens related flare. I sure do love having the sun around in the morning, but today he didn't want you to see my face. So often the sun gets its way!
Shoes: Von Maur
I need to teach a math class. I just created a new equation.
It is: Bright color + Bright color +Blazer + Metalics = winner
I enjoyed wearing this outfit. Sometimes I feel unlike myself when I'm not wearing at least one bright happy color. I wonder if that means I'm a bright happy person... I feel another equation coming on.

I have such a deep deep love of lace. Sometimes lace gets a bad wrap for being "old" or "traditional". I feel like this is a good example of lace being modern, fun and a little whimsical.
So much of this outfit makes me think my grandma would like it. Every time I wear this coral color, I feel like I should call her and tell her I'm wearing her color. We also always joke that she likes only things that are beige. I maintain that the true reason she loves my pup is because she is beige. Let me know what you think. I'll be on the phone with grandma finding out if I need to add more beige.

My husband and I had one of the most productive and beautiful weekends ever, and to end it all he took these perfectly lit photos of me in the morning fog. Accomplishing things as a team is oddly invigorating - and then we watched a movie. Getting excited about yard work shows what an exciting life I lead. Believe it!

I had lunch with my hubby at a deli place. The employee taking our order kept calling me orange sparkles and joking around with me. It was silly. This is evidence that orange sequined shirts make people cheerful and bring people together. Maybe I should suggest this for use in international relations.

If hippies wanted to dress professionally, I imagine they would dress something like this (minus the leopard print). Who doesn't love a lacy doily vest? You can't really tell, but my hair is actually braided, but I rolled it up into this updo after braiding it. As an added bonus my week-old chipping nail polish matches this sweater perfectly. Do you like hippies or wear doilies?

Everytime I pull out this blouse to wear it, I go straight for this skirt. (Other ways I've worn this top can be seen here, here and here) I think I'm just working on auto pilot. Maybe next time I'll come up with something super creative and awesome. In the mean time, you'll have to put up with my friends Peat and Repeat.
