For some insane reason, this dress looks like something someone who is fancier than me would wear on a boat. Now that I mention it, I have a particularly fun BOAT song stuck in my head. Maybe I should try wearing it with my boat shoes sometime.

I have been waiting for it to be warm to wear this super summer-y dress, so today was the day! This is why dresses are wonderful - one piece - add a sweater and I'm out the door!

This is my 2nd pair of awesome clearance pants. I got these for $2.88. I have been dreaming of the perfect pair of red skinnies for a long time, so it doesn't get much better than this. Pairing them with this stripey shirt makes me feel a little bit Parisian, so that's fun!

This lace top goes so beautifully with green. Its like they're meant to be together! I realize that mustard and teal would be a more accurate description, but it just doesn't have the same ring to it. I'm all about ring! The count down to Europe is now down to 14 days. I'm hoping to work on some lovely posts about my struggles to pack in one little bag!

I kid you not... I got these pants for $2.88. No joke. I don't joke about clearances. Okay. That's probably not true. I actually got two other pairs of pants. Same price. No joke.

I did struggle a little putting this outfit together. I wanted to put it with a blazer, but I couldn't find one that gave me the look I was going for.  Since nothing was working, I decided to go with no blazer, and it works just fine - sans blazer.

I'm sorry, but I love this dress. There's nothing bad about it. On second thought... I'm not sorry. I've found lot of great ways to wear it (i.e. this and this). I'm a little more daring today, so I crossed the flowers with the zebras. I'm growing up!

This was a complicated day for getting dressed. It was a Friday which meant jeans, but we were meeting with clients in the morning, so I needed to find a happy medium between casual Friday and ultra professional. I think this does the trick.

As a bonus these booties are perfect for the walking required for this type of meeting AND they kept my toes warm on another 30 degree spring morning.

At work today all the women (i.e. 3 people) were wearing some shade of orange or red. We must have all been on the same wave length this morning. More new work today! 3 weeks until Europe!

I'll be gone for 2 weeks, does anyone have any thoughts on what you'd like to see while I'm gone? I can feature some other people's professional sytle. OR would you rather see my traveling outfits when I have the time and the internet to post things?  OR Maybe I could find a few guest bloggers to stop by.  Thoughts?

These pants have been hiding in the back of my closet for a while, and they really shouldn't have been. They are perfectly good pants! I'm continuing with my busy theme as of lately. Its really the only thing I have to talk about since all I've done is work for the last 72 hours. Busy is good people! I have decided to not be stressed about it, so there!

I wore almost exactly this outfit on Easter but without the blazer. I thought I'd try it again with a blazer to see if it works as a fun professional look. I think it was a successful experiment. The nude shoes keep it simple and chic while the bright blazer gives it some pizzazz.

My stress is amping up, so I'm trying to get as much done in a day without driving myself insane. It helps a little to just worry about today rather than all the things coming up.

I went through about 4 outfits before I came up with this one, and I think its a good one. The denim and the stripes are both "neutrals," but they are both wonderfully interesting pieces so that adds some nice complexity to the outfit.

I feel a little silly talking about my outfit given the events at the Boston Marathon. As a 1/2 marathon runner myself, this really hits home for me. Please keep those affected in your thoughts and prayers.

I was shopping with my husband over the weekend. He saw some signage in a store that said "boyfriend sweater," and he asked what that meant. It never really hit me that the term makes zero sense until then. So I explained that it mostly means things that are ill fitting.

This sweater is a little ill-fitting, but that's part of what I like about it. Put it with this great pair of skinnies and you can get away with whatever. That there is your lesson for Monday.
