I have this thing for pairing "sweet" looking pieces with more "tough" looking items. That's why I picked these hardcore booties to wear with this sweet floofy skirt (that's right, I just used the words "hardcore" and "floofy" in the same sentence). That makes me think, as I'm writing this, that I should try pairing this with a leather jacket sometime! Adding that to the to-do list!
How do you feel about wearing floofy things to the office?
Top: LC Lauren Conrad (via Kohl's) Skirt: Macy's Shoes: GUESS (via Macy's) Belt: came with a top
I'll probably never tire of wearing this shirt. Its pretty summer-y. Yet, here I am wearing it on the cusp of fall! I guess instead of believing in rules I just wear what I feel like wearing on any given day. Does that make me a bad blogger? Is it possible to go to blogger hell?
Apparently all the cool kids are wearing shirts with the shoulders cut out. Do you think this could be the definition of the opposite of shoulder pads? I think it might.
Believe it or not, I actually have a bit of a pattern mix going on. My skirt is a tiny plaid and clearly my sans-shoulder top is flower-licious.
There has been a lot of build up to actually wearing this outfit. I never thought about pairing these two items until I happen to see them hanging near each other in the closet. Oh what wonderful inspiration one finds in the closet.
I really love these patterns together, but I hesitated to wear it because I was afraid the rest of the world would not understand the pattern mix-y awesomeness. After a few days my love for this combination overcame my apprehensions. Double the pleats & double the patterns.l.. if only I had some doublemint gum!
Believe it or not these are the shoes all the bridesmaids in my wedding wore. They have a magical power to be somewhat invisible while still being snakeskin, iridescent and fun! How did I end up with a pair for shoes my bridesmaids wore you ask? Well my shoe twin gave me hers, since she didn't think she'd get much use out of these heels.
I love the neckline of the top and the fun red color, but I think this outfit could be much better somehow. I just haven't figured out how yet! How would you make this better?
I am over the moon about all bird prints right now. It is because of this that I need to warn you that you might be seeing a lot of this shirt for the foreseeable future. I see that this is not the most flattering outfit the world has ever seen, but I love the colors and prints so much that I just don't care one bit! Perhaps I've flown the coop!
Everytime I pull out this blouse to wear it, I go straight for this skirt. (Other ways I've worn this top can be seen here, here and here) I think I'm just working on auto pilot. Maybe next time I'll come up with something super creative and awesome. In the mean time, you'll have to put up with my friends Peat and Repeat.
