Workin' what works

Top: borrowed
Skirt: Target
Boots: Carlos Santana (via gift)
Scarf: New York & Co

With only 2 weeks (and one day) to Baby Nealis' due date, I am growing more and more concerned with getting things done (read: ready for baby) and less concerned with getting dressed in the morning. This is not my favorited maternity look, but it does work ok. There's nothing particularly wrong with it, but there is also nothing particularly great about it -- except that it FITS! Keep moving forward prego, the wee one is almost here!

Workin' love beyond the bump

Tank: Nordstrom Rack
Jeggings: Kohl's
Blazer: H&M
Boots: Carlos Santana (via gift)
Scarf: gift

This is a fun outfit! Thankfully, I still like this shirt. If you've ever been pregnant, you might know how you start to really not enjoy wearing your "maternity" clothes. I have really made and effort to find things that are not "maternity wear by definition, but work great to cover my bump. Make no mistake, getting dressed is hard!

Workin' lace on top

Blouse: LC Lauren Conrad (via Kohl's)
Leggings/Pants: TJ Maxx
Shoes: Nine West
Necklace: Carson's

The top of my top is lace. That shouldn't be funny, but for some reason, I find it hilarious. I adore this shirt. The blue color is rich and beautiful and the lace is like nothing else in my closet.

In reality, this blouse probably isn't really for me. These shirts that are higher in the front and long in the back aren't for people with a baby bump like mine. BUT it was long enough to cover, AND I make the rules. So I went with it.

Baby Nealis could realistically be here any day. If you're following along on the ol' personal blog you know we have only 2.5 weeks to go!

Workin' the day after

Dress: borrowed
Boots: Charlotte Russe
Scarf: gift
Jacket: TJ Max

The day after our big presentation each year is one of comfort, recuperating and a little bit of sleeping in. Our company does a large very important presentation to our industry each year, and all the work to prepare can be a few months of extra work and stress. This year our firm was a comedy of errors as we tried to prepare the presentation while enduring illnesses and maternity leave.  But we got through it!

This dress is comfortable and the shoes are fun with it! Wearing the brown with black is just my way of being a "rebel"!

Workin' beige

Sweater: TJ Maxx
Pants/Legging: TJ Maxx
Shoes: Sperry's
Scarf: Target

In early spring, when I learned about my pregnancy and the November due date, I started stocking up on long sweaters that could be worn with leggings just like this! I love it when a plan comes together. Even a "boring" color like beige can become awesome with accessories. Thank you neon orange for making this beige sweater sing!

Workin' a tiny jacket

Tank: Target
Jacket: Express
Jeans: TJ Maxx
Boots: Charolette Russe
Scarf: gift

Sometimes I forget that I own this awesome jacket. Every since visiting Europe last May, I have been really excited about these leather (looking) jackets. I even bought one in Rome! I thought maybe the short-ness of this jacket would work well with the ever growing bump. I'm really quite pleased with this outfit. It is always fun to get back to wearing my boots again!

Workin' fall time

Dress: Target
Blazer: TJ Maxx
Shoes: DSW

For some reason, this outfit is screaming FALL to me. I don't know if it is the mix of stripes and leopard together or the red with the black and white. This dress is pretty fun to wear with the big ol' bump because of the way the stripes sometimes hide it and sometimes accentuate it.

Workin' 3.5 weeks

Sweater: TJ Maxx
Leggings: TJ Maxx
Boots: GUESS (via gift)
Necklace: Coldwater Creek

We have 3.5 weeks until baby's due date. This outfit makes me feel like even at 8 months pregnant, I can still be myself. I love that the sweater covers my bump, it is Colts blue AND it is chevron. All good things!

Workin' stretch skirt

Top: borrowed
Skirt: Forever21
Scarf: gift

Thank God I have so many of these stretchy skirts! This one also brings a little interest, with print, to what could otherwise be a pretty boring outfit. The scarf helps too. This top IS actually a maternity top that belongs to my sister. I haven't been wearing much actual maternity wear, but in this case, it worked quite well.

Workin' the darkness

Sweater: hand-me-down (from my sister)
Leggings/Pants: TJ Maxx
Boots: GUESS (via gift)

I normally would steer clear of these big bat sleeves, but the rest of the shape is to perfect for covering my big ol' bump. This outfit works surprisingly well. I don't normally wear so much black/grey, but I think I have enough other texture and interest that I don't NEED color too. I might be doing some more experimenting with black!

The jury is still out on whether one should wear leggings as pants in a professional setting, but I can get by with - so I do it.
