Workin' asymmetry

Top: gift
Skirt: Express
Boots: Guess (via gift)
Necklace: Carson's

This is not my best attempt, but I wanted to give this funky shirt a shot. I may have to save this one for post baby wear. It is good to know that asymmetrical tops and baby bumps are not an ideal pair.

Workin' hippy shoes

Top: Target
Jeggings: Kohl's
Blazer: Kohl's
Shoes: DSW
Scarf: NY& Co

I lovingly refer to these shoes as my "hippy shoes". I'm not sure why. I think these shoes might actually be cooler than I am, but every now and then I try to wear them anyway.

Workin' flower power

Dress: Target
Booties: DSW
Belt: ?

I once heard someone complain that "pregnant girls wear stripes all the time." Now I adore stripes, so I wear them as much as possible - pregnant or not. Today I went the flower route, and I think it works great with the bump. More flower to ya.

There is a lot going on with getting ready for baby. Don't forget, you can keeps tabs on all things baby and nursery over here on my personal blog.

Workin' green on the bottom

Blouse: Marshall's
Blazer: Forever21
Pants: TJ Maxx
Shoes: Nine West
Necklace: Vera Wang (Via Kohl's)

This mix of prints/colors is pretty nice, but the shape and fit is still up for debate. I have been wearing mostly skirts and dresses since my belly really started to bump out, but sometimes a girl just wants to wear some pants. I have struggled a little to work with this color of army green. I'll consider this a moderate success.

Workin' piles of clothes

Blouse: Banana Republic
Skirt: Target
Shoes: Nine West
Necklace: gift

This outfit was a last minute one. I am still struggling with not having a closet, so my mornings are giving me trouble. It turns out, it is difficult for me to picture outfits that will work when I can't see my wardrobe in front of me. I have to dig for things in piles! A closet re-do is not for the faint of heart, people!

Workin' an illusion

Dress: Target
Blazer: H&M
Belt: LOFT
Shoes: Steve Madden Luxe

I was making a quick Target trip after a weekend at the family lake house, browsing through the clearance section, and this maxi dress was calling my name. Once again, it is NOT a "maternity" dress, but it works great for that purpose.

The best part of it is, when I put it on and face forward it almost makes the baby bump disappear. What a fancy little optical illusion! I hope to be able to put this dress to great use even as fall descends on us and the bump grows even larger!

Workin' simple/classic

Jeans: gift
Tank: Target
Scarf: gift
Shoes: Target

I am interested to see how/if my style will change after baby arrives. I am sure a lot of thing will change, and my style is always evolving. Who knows where I'll go next? Spit up and diaper bags anyone?

This outfit works because I took something fabulously simple/classic and added this funky scarf. It is the easiest way to add a little "something" to your style. Take something classic like jeans and a red top and add in a statement piece. The end. That's the whole lesson for today! Class dismissed.

Workin' borrowed goods

Dress: borrowed
Blazer: H&M
Shoes: Nine West
Necklace: gift

My fabulous sister gave me the few maternity things she owns to wear as they become more and more necessary. This dress is so perfect and easy. I'll be wearing this one again for sure. If for no other reason than it is easy to wear and easy to style.

My house is in chaos right now because we are having hardwood floors installed. Our lovely walkin closet is a part if the new flooring, so we had to literally remove EVERYTHING. So as challenging as it is to get dressed at 7 months pregnant, it is even more difficult because my clothes are strewn about our guest room! In the end, our closet will be better laid out and WAY more organized, so it is worth it. But there is a little extra stress for this prego in the mean time!

Workin' a hint of whimsey

Skirt: Forever21
Blouse: Target
Shoes: GUESS
Necklace: gift

This outfit photographs nicely. I love the combination of the ruffles and the polka dots. Thankfully, this skirt and its pleats work well with my growing bump. It has a hint of whimsey, and it was fun to wear too.

Workin' high-lo prego

Dress: Target
Blazer: H&M
Shoes: Bakers Shoes

I love this print mix. but the high-lo dress is completely exaggerated with my bump. I'm not sure if that's good or not, but the outfit works well enough. 9 more weeks until we meet the little one, and we are NOT ready yet! Lots to do!
