My mother has always been really great at picking out awesome stuff for me to wear. Saturday was my birthday and this skirt and jacket combo was one of the awesome things she got me! It is so unique and creates such a wonderful shape -- not to mention it is Vera Wang. I am really excited to see all the things I can pair this jacket with!
Not everyone is lucky enough to have a mom that understands their style. I am one of those lucky few! Thanks, Mom!

I can't vouch for whether or not this is fashion, but this is me. I'm excited about the football season and we have some interesting things going on with football in Indianapolis.
Football details aside, I think my white jeans are going to come in handy this year. They go great with so many things, and I'm brave enough to wear them after labor day and in places where red sauce is served.

I think this outfit is fun. the orange and green make me think of fall. I love fall, but I'm not completely sure I'm done with summer! There were so many things I wanted to accomplish this summer that have not even been started! Ugh! On the flip side, fall is one of my favorite times of year -- football, camping, the colors, the smell of decaying leafs! so lovely!

I like the floral of this shirt, but for some reason it screams fall in my head. I'm not sure why. Florals are good most anytime, but I think the dark/rich color palette is what has me felling fallish in this.
The star of these photos is really the amazing new yellow door! Well it is not a new door, but it is newly yellowed door. My hubby and I spent last weekends styling and painting our old boring door, and this is the fruits of our labor! I'm pretty excited.

Dress as Shirt: Macy's
Skirt: Target
Shoes: ALDO
Necklace: Macy'sI'm pretty excited about this outfit. When I first got this skirt, I struggled and struggled to figure out how to wear it, but I feel like I'm starting to get it! To see some of the other ways I've styled it, look here and here)
I'm also excited about the stark contrast that the black shoes and belt. They make me/this outfit feel like it is all put together. I feel fancy when I feel put together! If I were wearing pants, I would call them fancy pants.

This was the perfect outfit for all the running around I did! It may not look like much, but I'm in love with this! It was light and effortless running around taking photos and doing some stuff outside. and these shoes fit me perfectly so they are great for when I need to walk around. It is simple and bright and lovely. Plus, I keep trying to make the "summer scarf" thing work.

I don't actually work in the NFL, although, that would be awesome! Friday was my team's 2nd preseason game, and since Fridays are "casual", I sported my favorite jersey. I'm a pretty huge Colts fan, so the prospect of the coming football season is especially exciting to me.
I decided about 1/2 way through the day that I would feel better about this outfit if I wore something other than skinny jeans with it. It is just an automatic reflex now to reach for my skinnies, but I think the look would be more balanced with some great flares or even trouser jeans.
Do you have a favorite sport or team?

Compared to many, I am relatively new a the "pattern mixing" thing. How do you feel about flower prints mixed with leopard prints. I thought it worked alright because the leopard felt like a "neutral" in this case.
I need to get my hands on some more sweet colored blazers. This one happens to be corduroy and (again) my Mom got it for me! She is pretty awesome.
On an unrelated note, the railing on my deck seems to be rotting away. Hubs and I should work on that. Otherwise you should keep your eyes "peeled" for the day you see a picture of me falling OFF the deck!

Don't make fun of my wrinkly clothes. I had to take pictures in the evening instead of the morning because I had some camera malfunctions and no time to deal with them. I should note that they are not all wrinkles since this pencil skirt has some nifty rucheing
Everyone say hello once again to my pupperoni, Baylee. She's so smart and freaking adorable! She likes to help me out with my pictures for the bloggy blog.

I've never tried to tie up this big ruffley shirt before. I think it works okay, but not great. I do love the teal combined with this salmony redish color.
These shoes are one of my favs! They are not just metallic, they are also crackled! So much fun!

This is a color combination I'm actually using in my living/dining room, so it is clearly one of my favorites. I'm pretty excited to finally have another embellished cardi. Not to mention, it was on the clearance rack at Target! It is weird that sometimes I forget about Target as a super neat place to find clothes.
Looking at the photos, I don't feel like this was a perfectly figure flattering outfit, but it was a lot of fun to wear! Plus this dress has pockets. All is right with the world.

I like these green loafer-y things. They are really fun to wear! In this outfit I felt quite citrus-y. Since I'm just making random statements with no connection to each other, I'd like to add that I'm on the fence with these jeans. They are comfortable because they are 'stretchy', but they are just OK in terms of how they look/fit.

I typically avoid things with butterflies on them, but for some reason this dress is the exception to my butterfly rules! I have found it to be surprisingly versatile (I wore it differently here).
When I pulled up the photos I noticed all the neat textures in the outfit. Between the flowers on the cardi and the "quilted" pumps; I am texture-licious! I felt pretty good in this outfit, and since that is the most important part of getting dressed -- it must be a pretty good ensemble!
It would be cool if all the flutter-bys on my dress started flapping their little wings and could fly me around like Peter Pan. That would be sweet - someone should work on that.
