Don't you think sometimes platforms look a little bit like hooves? I do. Interestingly, that did not stop me from ordering these zebra babies! They are so HIGH. I'm like a giant when I wear them!

Dress: LOFT
Cardi: TJ Maxx
Mustard Boots: Amazon.com
Brown Boots: DSW
Over night, one of my oldest friends (I wore those shoes for her wedding) had her first baby! I knew when I left the house that I'd be heading over the meet the new little one. At first I chose the mustard boots and when I realized I'd be hiking through hospital hallways, I made the switch to these more practical brown ones.

This top is another lovely find from the Target clearance rack. I like adding some neon to my wardrobe without over investing. I love the neon trend, but we all know it won't last forever, so not spending too much on it is important to me. It's important to be conscious about where you want to put your money! Look at me telling you what to do - like a boss!

I know birds are super cool right now, but I am totally jumping on the band wagon. I love bird prints. I found this dress at Target for $12! Sometimes, that Target clearance rack is just the bestest thing ever!
Come join me on the bandwagon! Oh! FYI, people on the bandwagon get to wear tights that perfectly match their booties! BONUS!

I love polka dots, and this dress reminds me of Minnie Mouse. Minnie is pretty cool chick to emulate, so I guess that's okay. I was so cold this morning on my run that I couldn't resist the urge to put on some boots and a snuggley scarf.

I almost forgot that have own burgundy pumps! I think these will really come in handy this fall. Does anyone else forget about shoes they own?
I have been pretty much ignoring my accessories lately. For whatever reason, I try a necklace in the morning and I decide that it distracts from the nice lines of a top. I could also blame it on the fact that all my jewelry is currently residing in the hallway because hubby and I are redo-ing our bedroom (FINALLY!). Get excited people!

Top: Banana Republic
Skirt: Banana Republic
Booties: Amazon.com
I like this outfit better in concept than in practice. It would probably be perfect if I had a sweet mustardy pencil instead of this wrinkle ridden pleated number.
At about noon, I looked down and one of the flowers appliqués was falling off my booties. Luckily, we had some spray adhesive in the back room at work. I was like MacGyver in this hood! Resourcefulness saves the day. Hook me up with some Qtips and dental floss and I'll make you a combustion engine! Bam!

Jeans: Banana Republic
Shoes: Chinese Laundry (via DSW)

Look out! I think I may have discovered my new fall uniform. Skinnies, of any color, and a comfortable voluminous sweater. I probably only like it because I have such an addiction to volume on top pencil skirt on bottom - same concept. It worked great for my casual Friday because it looks put-together, but it is still conducive to getting a whole mess of work done!
Update: Thanks to Frieda for helping me find and correctly use the word "voluminous"!

Tshirt: Kohl's
Skirt: ELLE (via Kohl's)
Necklace: Charming Charlie's

I love the idea of dressing up a Tshirt. Something about the juxtaposition of the fancy with the "not fancy" makes my creative juices boil! I went with the matchy necklace because it seemed fun. Also, I love anytime I can use the word juxtaposition. Get on board people!

I received a sweet compliment from someone in my building today. She said: "You are always the best dressed. You have such great style." I think I have some pretty serious competition in the building. Maybe we should have a special best dressed list just for our building!
What?! You don't think that would be professional? You're silly!
Update: Since I didn't put the EBEW on my calendar this month and I've been falling behind in my reading, I didn't get my Sept EBEW up. I have chosen to retroactively make this my "back to school" entry. Its a little bit preppy and pretty well thought out, so it works! Submission is closed, but at least I can say I completed the assignment!

In case you were curious... work is crazy again! This time of year is always a bit of a race. Every now and then it starts to feel like you're on one of those hamster wheels. You run and run and don't actually ever get ahead! Pretty soon I'm going to get myself on of those hamster balls and start going places!
P.S. I once had a hamster named "hammy". Yep.

This morning I woke up to some very crisp air coming in through my windows. When it came time to choose something to wear, my mind went straight to booties so my toes would be snuggly and warm. Are you ready to break out the booties?

Don't be distracted by my recycling bin at the end of my driveway! This is a really good outfit, but you might not know that because of the recycling bin! My husband would be horrified to see our recycling bin posted on the interwebs, but with his new fancy job he dosen't have the pleasure of taking my photos anymore! Mwahahaha. - (That's my evil laugh.)

I'll probably never tire of wearing this shirt. Its pretty summer-y. Yet, here I am wearing it on the cusp of fall! I guess instead of believing in rules I just wear what I feel like wearing on any given day. Does that make me a bad blogger? Is it possible to go to blogger hell?
