I'm not crazy about this outfit, but I think it is ok.  I have a bizarre fear of brown and grey for no reason at all. I got these corduroys probably over six years ago, and when I spied them in a pile in my closet, I decided I should get some use out of them before spring comes and cords aren't allowed anymore!

I am feeling quite tired of snow, but it was so beautiful in the morning that I decided it was a good thing -- especially since it makes my outfit really pop in these photos!  If we're lucky, this will be the last snow of this season.   Not to be seen again until December -- maybe November.

I talk about weather a lot.  Odd.

As the day wore on, I somehow fell more and more in love with this outfit.  I was excited to wear my new shirt by LC that I almost forgot I bought.  I have been pretty ruffle-y lately, but I just can't help myself!  This outfit is not particularly figure flattering and for some reason it feels a little "country", but I've decided that's okay.

I just want to take the opportunity to point out the awesome flower details on my boots.  I just find it so exciting!  Hopefully, I can find some great ways to style these in the future!

It seems that I'm trying to blend in with the evergreen behind me, but I swear I'm not!

Until today, I was a skinny belt virgin!  And don't be shocked, but that's not a skirt!  It is a dress.  I have seen JoAnn over at Sidewalk Chic do it a few times, so I had to give it a shot.  I think I love it!  My wardrobe is suddenly a whole new world!  I'll sing you the song later.  You'll have to wait for warmer times to see the full dress.


These shoes might be my current favorites from my collection (sorry for the less than awesome photo).  My mother picked them out, and gave them to me this Christmas.  She has amazing style, and she clearly knows me very well!

Do you think this dress is long enough for a professional work setting?  I would be happier if it were a bit closer to my knee.  I decided that because it was a whimsical/floofy shape then it was not too sexy for work. What do you think?

So I've decided, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!  The weather keeps wanting to stay gray, so I have officially joined it.  But as per usual, I have put my own spin on it!  It is difficult to show, but these pants actually have a subtle pink/red and while pin stripe. So the cardigan is even more fitting than you know!

I feel so put together in this outfit -- which is weird because I usually have something that's a little off. Oh!  and how can you not feel awesome when you're wearing these JS shoes that are both metallic and crackled!  Next time I'll give you a close up, so you can really see!

I know you can't see it very well here, but I am wearing herringbone pumps!  I just got them, and I was so excited to wear them that I planned this whole outfit just to so I could wear them.  The yellow shirt I adore, but have not had the chance to pair it with a lot of things yet. 

I struggle with this jacket.  It does a lovely job cinching in my waist (oh and it also only cost me $7!), but it completely coveres my ruffle-ish-ous shirt, so I decided not to close it.  Any thoughts on how to improve? Other than not standing in the rain.

I actually really really like this outfit.  It was "causal friday"  so I had a few more items I could utilize.  This sweater is new, so I have not figured out perfectly how to wear it yet.  I am psyched that it worked here.  I'm sure I've been told before that gradients are evil, but I am relatively pleased with the use if it here.  It ads interest to the whole ensemble.

When I'm wearing this outfit I feel like I should be doing something cool like strolling through some beautiful downtown area or a farmer's market.  I feel very sassy and laid back.  Definitely a keeper!

Yes, I am wearing white pumps before memorial day, why do you ask?!?   It is 60 degrees in Indiana in the middle of February, so I was using my wardrobe to try to encourage the weather to stay nice!  Using you wardrobe is the only effective way to tell the weather what it should be doing.  You have the power!

This shirt is one of my most favorite finds in my trek to acquire more prints.  I and the sequins on the shrug make me giddy!  I'm not convinced the shrug goes well with the pants, but I think it worked well enough for a faux spring day in February.

Today, at work we had an awesome charity bowling event to attend, so I got the chance to design our sweet team shirts! I went with the trouser cut jean because I thought it would go better with the awesome bowling shoes.  Not sure if I was successful or not, but I love this shirt!  We named the lightning dude sparky.

My puppy, Baylee, got a BIG kick out of her mom and dad trying to take some pictures during her PLAY time.  She recently had a rather drastic haircut, so she looks especially skinny minni!

Popping outside to take photos this morning was such joy!  It is so nice to see the sun peaking out in the mornings now -- instead of driving to work in the darkness.  The perma-cloud has temporarily left and it is going to be almost 60 degrees on Wed/Thurs! 

Enough small talk!  Back to this outfit.  I love this dress a lot, so the fact that my new boots go well with it is exciting.  I tried to put a suit jacket with this to make it look more professional and less playful, but I just didn't feel like it worked.  Maybe I just didn't have the right jacket.  I'll have to explore this more, so I can wear this dress more in the fall/winter and not just in the summer.

For Valentine's day, I decided red was the way to go.  After this photo, I actually added a creamy scarf to the ensemble, and I think it made it better and more valentiney/snuggley.  I wish I had some of those white tights with the red or pink hearts that I used to wear when I was little. They would have gone perfectly with this and would have been very festive.  I love to be festive!

I know Stacy and Clinton would tell me that these boots make me look short because they cut off the line of my leg, but I love them soooo much.  If you didn't know that Carlos Santana has a shoe line, go check it out now.  I find some of the neatest most interesting shoes in his lines, and they aren't even paying me to say that!

It was casual friday, so I try to be laid back with the jeans, but still nice with a sweater and a POP of jewelry.  I have been grabbing up any piece of Vera Wang accessories I can find on the Kohl's clearance rack.  so many of them are great statement pieces.  This sweater is not one I've worn much since it is so long, but I think the belt helps to break it up.

Does anyone have thoughts on what you'd do differently or ways to improve this outfit?

There's a lot going on here, but I think it is fun.  It reminds me more of fall than of February, but hey, who cares!   I love the playfulness AND it was -2 degrees when I left for work, so many many layers were necessary.  And check it out - -  I finally found some tights!

This is not a great picture, but aside from that I think there are some good things going on here.  I dug this sweater out of a big tub of sweaters.  It is one of the warmest sweaters I own, so it was perfect for the subzero weather this week.  I learned from my last blue and grey outfit and added a POP of color in the shoes.  I love pumps and these hot pink babies are my favorite!

I have struggled to find great ways to style this skirt even though I am completely in love with it.  When I started looking for something to wear with those new purple booties, something magic happened.  Boom! The skirt is suddenly perfectly purple and less mauve/pink.  This made me love it even more.

I added the scarf because it made the whole look seem more snuggley/warm and less stiff.  And thanks to Hubby for taking these photos.

I love this sweater!  I have dreams during which sugar plums and THAT sweater dance in my head!  I think I like the boots with this outfit, but I definitely need some tights in the snow.  Since I am experiencing a shortage of tights at the moment, I went without.

Here is an outfit I really like.  I have been trying to incorporate more prints into my wardrobe, and this shirt is great.  Everything is a bit monochrome until you get to my favorite necklace, which is an amazing bright yellow/chartreuse.   I love it when I have the opportunity to add pops of color!

I like a lot of things about this outfit.  The shoes make me squeal with silly excitement.  All you can do when you see them is say "awwwww".  My shoes have BOWS on them... What more could you want?

I love this dress because I have found a lot of different ways to wear it.  I think the whole outfit flows pretty well together, but for some reason it seems forced.  Any ideas for making it better?

I realized this photo is worse than the last one, but Hubby and I ordered a DSLR with our Christmas $$ that just arrived on Tuesday.  I promise better photography is on its way!

I am not in love with this outfit, though I do like the layers.  I wish I'd chosen a brighter shoe and some kind of accessories that are bright and awesome! Better luck next time.
