After spending a long weekend in WV with my Hubs, I was dragging a little. This outfit was easy, but still worked well. I can always count on this J Crew skirt to make an outfit look put together. I apologize for my spotty posts the last few weeks! I'll get back in a rhythm soon!

There are a lot of exciting things happening right now! My husband accepted a new job at a great company, so we are very excited about all the wonderfulness that could lead to.
ALSO I've been doing a large free lance project over the last 3 weeks and now I can finally relax. I found it more difficult than I thought to leave work and come home to have a lot of freelance work to do! Luckily, my husband has been busy anyway, so he didn't miss me too much.
You probably don't know that my husband is an audio engineer, and we've been (slowly) working on adding a recording studio to our house. It is right off of the garage, so it should be easy for musicians to load and unload their gear. Plus they'd have their very own 1/2 bathroom down there in the studio, so realistically they never really have to even enter my home. Not having strangers traipsing through your house is exciting stuff people!
Sadly, there's no time to tell you all about how I've been waiting to wear this giraffe print with my stripes for a LONG time, but it is all good news today!

As it turns out, every time "casual Friday" rolls around I reach for these zebra stripey Sperry's. What you can't see in the photo is that these shoes have the softest snuggliest fabric on the inside. Honestly, it is like I'm wearing slippers to work. I'm such a maverick!

This is my birthday face, and my birthday outfit. Ever since I was young, I have always loved wearing something beautiful on my bday. So I chose this top as my something beautiful. It might be one of the most lovely things I own.
I'm pretty sure I've also worn this necklace to death! Who is tried of seeing this necklace? Sorry kids, I just seems to go with everything I own! I should make a trip back to Charming Charlies sometime to find some more things I love.

It appears as if I've gone print wild. I have, not two, but three prints on. Birds and stripes and zebra print in one outfit can make for a wild Friday. You know I'm pretty wild staying home and watching American Pickers on my Friday nights. The real wild woman - right here.

Striped shirt, denim - need I say more? I know these pants are "distressed", but they are so stinking comfortable!
I spent the entire weekend helping my sister prep her old house to be rented. We did everything from painting to landscaping. Today I am sore! When I recover, I'll be stronger and she'll be richer!

I think I have enough going on here that I didn't add any accessories. Its not unlike me to add nothing to an outfit. It is too bad you can't see it, but this dress has a bit of a shimmer to it. Its the most magical fabric I've ever seen. I thought pairing it with the neutral short waist blazer was and interesting use of neutrals, so I had to throw in the hot pink shoes to bring it full circle!

I have this thing against wearing red and green when it is not Christmas time. It is as if people would think I'm confused if I wear red and green in August. Today I threw

I am getting back into the swing of things. My house is a crazy wreck because we just got home from our long European trip and haven't been able to do laundry! Our washing machine stopped working about 2 days before we left and we didn't have time to deal with it, but last night we got it fixed! I've never been so excited about washing clothes before! I know. I know. My life is just too exciting.
I'm very sorry I should have taken a picture of the BACK of this dress because it has a beautiful V in the back. Maybe next time!

Since I'm gone far far away in Europe (today we're leaving Interlaken and heading to Montreux on an amazing scenic train ride) you're getting an interesting smorgasbord of different things to see here on the ol' bloggy blog. I've been hearing from a few that you'd like to know what blogs I love to read and get inspiration from, so here they are!
For Fashion:
There are too many to say, so I'll try to give you the cliffs notes version...
I really enjoy getting inspiration from other bloggers in Indiana, so the only ones I know of so far are:
Some of these great people you'll see guest posting here this week!
To be fair, I'm about 2 months behind on my blog reading, so there are many not listed here. I just wanted to share a few, so you can find some more awesome bloggers to follow!

For the Home:
- Forgive me, but I love Young House Love. They are quirky and goofy like me and that just makes me smile. They also have a more personal blog called Young House Life that I enjoy.
- I've also been Following Abby over at A Delightful Design, because I met her and she's fantastic!
Also as a note, if you're not using a blog reader of some kind to read all your blogs, you might look into it. I've always used Google Reader, but they are killing it soon. So now I am trying to get used to using Feedly.

Hey "Work It" friends! I'm Elissa and I blog at Professionally Petite. I'm so excited to guest post for Christine while she's away on her dream vacation! I blog a lot about my work outfits, and sometimes about my weekend outfits. Since I work as an attorney, I often have to wear a suit, and I blog about ways I mix and match suit separates while trying to insert some fun, too. Today I wanted to share the main way I dress for "day to night" when I know I have to go anywhere right after work.
Because I try not to carry an entire suitcase of clothes and accessories in my car, I like to keep as much of the outfit the same for dinner as possible. With this in mind, I decided to ditch the work-appropriate blazer and large bag, and carry a snake-print clutch instead. Since I was already wearing "fun" snake-print shoes to work, I kept those the same. I also kept all the accessories the same, but you could inject some more edgy pieces for nighttime if that's your style. Personally, I debated wearing my favorite chain necklace and bracelets instead of this jewelry, but I wear them ALL the time so I thought I'd change it up. How do you go from work to dinner? Please share any tips and tricks in the comments!

I didn't even try to do creative things for you today. I figured the floral print would carry me though. This is a completely comfortable and awesome dress. $8 well spent, indeed. In retrospect, I probably would have tried this with some different blues and greens. There's always next time!
